The Subway Fly
a unique graphic novel

The Story:

Summer break is here, and the only thing Fermín wants is to lock himself in his room to play video games. However, his parents have other plans. Unexpectedly, they decide to take him to his grandpa's house, where the internet has gone down due to the recent rains.

Without any connection to the virtual world, Fermín devises a plan to go with his grandpa to the city where he can connect his console to the public network and download the video games he needs to survive that summer. What he didn't count on was that, when traveling on the subway, a hooded child would grab his console and jump out of the car with it. While chasing him through the tunnels, Fermín falls through one that takes him to an underground world full of mutants!

When he finally reaches the boy who took his console, he discovers he is a half-fly boy. The boy introduces himself as Gustavo, who explains to Fermín that he needs the processor of his console to finish his transmuting machine. In exchange, he will make him the best videogame console Fermín has ever seen. He accepts, but when they are about to test the machine, Fermín walks in front of it, turning into a half-fly.

With the machine fried, both children must now look for the necessary parts to repair it so that Fermín can return to normal and reach the train where his grandpa is.

About the book:

THE SUBWAY FLY is 352 pages of pure fun, a unique graphic novel combining prose and comic elements that complement each other, adding an extra ingredient that pushes history forward. It explores friendship, courage, and self-discovery. It’s perfect for fans of fantasy, science fiction, and anthropomorphic creatures.

This is one of the proudest projects I've ever worked on.
